The DEP has started investigating a local dry cleaner for potential health hazards.
The DEP has been taken soil and air samples in the area of the cleaners on Forest St. As a result of the investigation, Markey’s office at 5 High Street has been shut down for the past few days. A notice on Markey’s doors states the office is closed due to building construction. However, the DEP has been in and around the building at the High St location during the past few days. The High Street location houses several business which appear to be operating as usual, however Markey’s office staff indicates they have received written notice of investigation and has not opened since last Tuesday and remains closed as of the following Monday. It’s unclear if any other business have been notified of any potential hazards.
